Making A Difference

What We Do

Education & Outreach

Helping The Community

Of the Locust's spirit of always striving to make a difference, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in achieving our aim of ensuring adequate literacy and numeracy skills through;

  • Organizing vacation literacy, numeracy and ICT classes for pupils.

  • Organizing periodic rural spelling bee and reading competitions among schools.

  • Supplying schools with reading materials.

  • Organizing educational seminars and symposium for pupils and teachers alike.

School Enrollment Drive

Reinforcing our Commitment

With this initiative, our goal is to enrol and retain kids in school to have full access to quality education by identifying children of school going age, who are still at home and those who have dropped out of school and;

  • Enroll them in school.

  • Pay their school fees.

  • Supply them with reading and writing materials.

  • Supply them with school uniforms.

Skills Training & Career Development

One Step at a Time

With our aims always in mind, we strive to find strategies to reduce at least by half the proportion of people living in poverty. We identify and target people, including Teenage mothers living in poverty and give them skills training. The aim is the help them live a sustained independent life and also return to school if they want through the following skills training programs;

  • Batik tie & dye, bead, bracelets, slippers and soap making.

  • Fashion design.

  • Graphic & Web designing.

  • Computer programming.

  • Agriculture - Grasscutter, Mushroom, Snail, Pig, Poultry & Livestock Farming to Vegetable production etc...
