Call for Volunteers

Can you imagine what it must be like to get up in the morning and have to go out and find a bit of sheltered scrub land to have your morning wee or poo. That is what it is like for many people in the world.

The ladies above are helping build a community toilet block in their village of Alavanyo in the Volta region of Ghana. But whilst they are able to collect sand and gravel from a nearby stream and give their labour to mix the concrete they can't afford the cement. They are subsistence farmers and have very little access to cash.

We have been able to set up a donation page on which if you could donate as little as £5.00 you could buy the cement to make the building blocks.

A larger donation would help buy roofing sheets, doors, hinges for the doors, paint to keep the walls clean and most importantly the materials so the rainfall can be collected and stored so that people can wash their hands afterwards.

To make the a reality, we also seek the assistance of both local and international volunteers to aid in the following ways;

1. Concrete mixing 2. Carrying of Sand and blocks 3. Block laying 4. Plastering 5. Carpentry works 6. Plumbing works 7. Steel works 8. Painting

Side Attraction;

1. Local foods and rich culture 2. Personal & Portfolio development 3. A stroll to Tsatsadu waterfalls in Alavanyo and some major tourist sites in the Volta region 4. Certificate 5. New Friends

NB: It's advised that volunteers coming outside of Ghana pay a token of €200 for their accommodation and living expenses.

We can't wait to have you to put smile on the faces of these beautiful people.
